SMART Goals | 8 Week Challenge

re you wanting to tackle 2023 and create some healthy habits and sustainable lifestyle changes, but you are a little unsure of how to begin? It's time to set some goals team.

Working out with measurable goals in mind is the best way to harness your New Years motivation and keep it with you long-term. Knowing WHAT you want to achieve, in what TIME frame and HOW, makes it less overwhelming and more exciting. Whether your goal is to create some healthy habits, hit some PB's in the gym or achieve some amazing results in our January 8 Week Challenge, here is the best way to do it.

  1. Create SMART goals. That means they must be: Specific Measurable Achievable Relevant Time-based

Let's break this down further into some examples to help you create your own. Gym based SMART goals: "I want to be able to do 10 push ups on my toes in 3 months time"

"I want to improve my 3RM squat weight by 10kg by the end of the 8 week challenge"

"I want to improve my fitness testing run time by 20 seconds in 8 weeks"

Lifestyle goals:

"I would like to reach 10,000 steps for a minimum of 5 days of the week"

"I would like to prep 5 days worth of healthy lunches that fit my challenge macro targets every Sunday afternoon".

An important factor that you must consider when ensuring your goals are achievable is by also ensuring they are relevant to your life. If you are a mum of young kids who begin the night routine at 5pm, it is not realistic to set a goal to attend the 5:30pm sessions each day.

Once your goals are set, it's just as important to regularly asses your progress.

In our 8 week challenge we do fitness testing in weeks 1 and week 8. We test for your 3 rep maximums and perform various cardio fitness tests to find your baseline and measure your progress.

Throughout the eight weeks you will be provided with trackable workouts in the Gymmaster app which ensures you are progressively overloading each week. This is how we can almost guarantee all of our members will improve and reach their goals over the 8 weeks.

It's about working smarter, not harder. Work with our team. What are you striving towards this year?
